Dear Members,
We're delighted to share an update on the advancements within our junior coaching programme, underpinned by the dedicated leadership of Charles Harrison, our ECB Level 3 Pro Head Coach. Our focus on developing skilled and well-prepared cricketers for our senior teams continues to show promising results. Alongside this, we ensure that our programme is fun, inclusive, and fosters the enjoyment of forming new friendships.
Leadership and Coaching Excellence
Charles Harrison, with his extensive experience and coaching credentials, continues to set a high standard for our programme. We are also excited to announce that Alex Roberts will soon be joining our team. As a 1st team professional and ECB Level 4 Pro Coach, Alex will bring new techniques and a fresh perspective that will further enrich our coaching environment.
Our Coaching Team
Supporting Charles and the soon-to-arrive Alex are four ECB Level 2 coaches, along with an increasing number of ECB Level 1 coaches, ECB Support Coaches, and ECB All Stars Activators. This diverse and skilled team works collaboratively to provide a nurturing and comprehensive training environment for all our young cricketers. We emphasise a positive coaching atmosphere where enjoyment and team spirit are as important as technical skill development.
Strategic Focus
In line with the strategic direction set by our management committee, our junior pathway is designed to prepare players thoroughly for transitioning into our senior teams. This approach ensures that our young cricketers not only develop their game but also understand the dynamics and responsibilities associated with higher levels of play. We equally prioritise creating an enjoyable environment that promotes inclusivity and the formation of lasting friendships.
Celebrating Junior Achievements
We are proud to announce a significant milestone in our junior development programme. This coming Saturday, junior players Ryan Roberts, Aaqil Mohideen, Yumeth Athauda, Oliver Johnson, and Frazer James will take the field for our 1st XI team. Additionally, Sam Waller, Joe Harrison, Bryson Bertoni, and Ahaan Gowda are set to play for our 2nd team, while Lakmin Illeperuma will play for our 3rd team. Their progression is a testament to the effectiveness of our coaching and the hard work of our young players.
Championing Girls’ Cricket
At Whitmore CC, we are proud to stand at the forefront of girls’ cricket. With four junior girls’ teams and a high volume of talented female players representing our senior teams regularly, we are committed to promoting and expanding opportunities for girls in cricket. Our dedicated efforts ensure that girls have equal access and support to pursue their passion for the sport within a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Looking Ahead
The enthusiasm within our community and your ongoing support are vital to our continued success. We remain committed to enhancing our coaching standards and expanding the opportunities available to our budding cricketers. Our goal is to cultivate not only outstanding cricketers but also well-rounded individuals who appreciate the value of teamwork and community.
We are excited about the future of cricket at Whitmore CC and are confident that our initiatives will keep us at the forefront of nurturing cricket talent. Thank you for your continued support.
